IF IT MOVES, IT PLAYS. AND SO DO YOU !
INTENSIVE WORKSHOP with NORMAN TAYLOR
Based on the movement exercises and action mimes created by Jacques LECOQ, this workshop will push you technically, inspire you dramatically and surprise you poetically. The only way to create the extraordinary is to know the ordinary. As we are all the same and each of us is unique, so if we do what everybody does we will see our differences!
NORMAN TAYLOR
Teacher of Movement Analysis and Improvisation – Acting.
In 1976 he goes to Paris to study mime with Jacques LECOQ in his school. Gradually this word “mime” takes on other meanings for him.
The guessing game favoured by so many mime artists at that time recedes and there appears an actor relying on his body as the prime mover.
Silence, which he thought inevitable for miming, takes on all-inclusive dynamics; from silence and movement spring words and texts and...everything. Play and improvisation become inseparable from acting and structure in space.
Since everything which is constant in this world is constantly in movement and in interplay, he becomes more observant and more analytical. Te search for form and shape is ever- present, be it in movement or in acting. He develops his teaching techniques alongside Jacques LECOQ, continues to act and starts to direct shows.
In 2000 Norman leaves the school and travels more in order to teach, advise, direct and act. He now works in several European countries, and in Argentina , USA and Canada. He trains actors, creators, teachers – all those who explore the world of illusion. He trains teachers, directors of human resources, advisers – who are interested in the pedagogy of life.
His role changes with circumstances and the same quest remains – observe movement and play, and share, with those who desire it, the unfathomable depths of this approach.

DIRECTIONS
ENROLLMENT
Early Bird Tuition: €350 if deposit is sent by September 21th
Full Price: €430 if depositi is sent after September 21th
Please note that tuition does not include accommodation: participants will be responsible for organizing their staying in Padova.
The program is addressed to actors, performers, directors, dancers, who have with previous experience in LECOQ-based Movement Teatre.
To apply to the workshop, please send BARABAO teatro a letter of motivation by e-mail, sharing your work- story and the desire that drives you to this workshop.
Once the application is accepted, applicants can confrm their enrollment by sending a €200 non-refundable deposit-check.
Once accepted, places will be given in order of arrival. Please note that the minimum number of participants is 10 and the maximum is 16.
The Application Deadline is SEPTEMBER 15, 2019
LANGUAGE
The offcial language of this workshop will be English.
IMPORTANT NOTE
The workshop will be confrmed as soon as the minimum number of 10 participants will be reached. If, by the early bird deadline, the minimun number of confrmed participants will not be reached, the workshop will be cancelled and the deposit will be refunded.
