Each person is a story that came here intentionally to live itself out, and the living out of that story becomes a poetic process in some sense. Michael Meade |
THE ACTOR AS A MIME AND A CREATOR
16 April, 2011 → 17 April, 2011 - Firenze
A mime uses the human body to speak, to tell stories with the universal language of movement. Tony Montanaro defined mime as “physical eloquence.” To mime also means to imitate. Through observation and practice, technique and play, we learn to mime the world, and thus have infinite storytelling tools at our disposal.
This course will incorporate pantomime illusions, corporeal mime technique, ensemble theatre skills, physical characterization, and play, to expand each student’s physical vocabulary, and work toward generating original, movement-based material.
Tuition: 130 Euros (ARCI membership included)
For students attending more than one workshop, a discount will apply
The tuition does not include hospitality. For students coming from outside the town, Helikos Office can give info about hospitality nearby the studio.
